Our Mission

The Intercultural Institute for Contextual Ministry, Inc. (IICM) is an interdenominational, nonprofit, religious, 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization dedicated entirely to the application of missiological concepts in the communication of the gospel and the development of congregations through fundamental research of cultural, intercultural, cross-cultural, and multicultural groups, as well as ethnic, lifestyle, lifestage, and religious people groups and social environments in North America and beyond.

The IICM works to encourage congregations and various levels of fellowships, denominational groups, mission agencies, and para-church groups to understand their cultural context and to develop culturally-appropriate messages, methods, and missional strategies.  Through scholarly research, consultations, conferences, courses, and publications, the IICM intends to become the leading think tank for missional strategy and intercultural issues among evangelicals in North America today.
